We often accompany them, although they are not ‘escorted cruises’. We sometimes select specific events to cruise to, such as the Rhine Christmas Markets or the Dutch Bulb-fields in spring. Destination countries include Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Portugal, Slovakia and Switzerland.

FOUR-STAR MS HEINRICH HEINE

Welcome to a world of luxurious four and five-star European river cruises.

Facilities include a restaurant serving buffet breakfasts, four-course lunches and five-course dinners with a choice of main course. The ship has a small library, a comfortable lounge and bar, sauna, solarium and a small indoor pool. The pool area also has fitness equipment. On the partially covered sun deck you may relax on loungers, or play giant chess or quoits. A lift in reception operates between the Main and Upper Decks and gives access to the restaurant. There are 55 cabins on two passenger decks. Each cabin is 12 square metres and is fully equipped with a comfortable bathroom, hair dryer, radio, colour television, individual heating/air conditioning controls, safe, mini bar and telephone.

FOUR-STAR LUXURY MV ELEGANT LADY

Welcome to a world of luxurious four and five-star European river cruises.

The MV ‘Elegant Lady’ is a four-star luxurious passenger ship, built in Holland in 2003. She has two decks, Main and Upper plus the beautiful sundeck with its loungers for sun worshippers, and a covered area for use in inclement weather. The cabins on both decks are very comfortable with full en-suite shower rooms, colour TV with video information, telephone, mini safe and radio, plus air-conditioning and heating. On the Upper deck you will find reception, the library, with its open fire place, and the large lounge with excellent viewing facilities. The restaurant on Main deck has a large TV with video set-up so you can see the world passing by. The ship is air-conditioned and non-smoking. There is a lift between decks, and a chair lift to the sundeck where you’ll find fitness equipment and a small bar.

FIVE-STAR MS DOURO QUEEN

MS Douro Queen has 65 cabins, all with private bathrooms with showers and individually controlled air conditioning and heating. There are four decks. The Sun Deck, 300m2 with bar, swimming pool, and two jacuzzis; the Upper Deck with 38 double cabins with private balconies (15m² each); the Main Deck with 27 double cabins (12.5m2) with large picture windows (1.97 x 1.02m2), panoramic lounge bar with dance floor, and reception area; Lower Deck with restaurant, gift shop and crew area. The Douro Queen offers a full-service concierge river cruise experience, with a mixture of international and Portuguese cuisine, onboard entertainment as well as other activities, shows, lectures and demonstrations.

FOUR-STAR MS RENOIR / CAMARGUE / MICHELANGELO & SEINE PRINCESS

MS Renoir and her sister ships, MS Camargue, MS Michelangelo and MS Seine Princess are four of the fleet of 27 ships owned and run by the 35-year-old, French family-run company, Croisieurope. The company is Europe's largest river cruise line. The luxurious MS Renoir was built in 2001. She is 110m long and 11.4m wide. The ship's state-of-art facilities include a lounge-bar with a dance floor; bar; dining room; large sun-deck with deck-chairs; library and gift shop; central heating; 220V electricity; air-conditioning; radar and radiophone. She has two decks with a total of 78 cabins and can take 158 passengers. The upper deck has 28 cabins (3 doubles, 25 twins). The main deck has 50 cabins (2 singles, 4 triples, 7 doubles and 37 twins). All cabins are above water level and offer panoramic views. The cabins are spacious and comfortable, with twin beds or a double bed, a bathroom (shower, WC and washbasin) and towels provided. They also have satellite television, radio, a hairdryer and safe. The sun deck is fully equipped with recliners and deck chairs. MS Renoir operates on the rivers Seine and Rhone. The ship is not equipped for disabled persons.

FOUR-STAR M.P.S STATENDAM

M.P.S. Statendam is one of the fleet of eleven modern river cruise vessels run by Feenstra Rhine Line. She is one of the largest ships operating in this market. The interior of Statendam, which can carry 190 passengers, was recently refurbished. There are four decks. On the sun-deck ample chairs and deck chairs are lined up around the heated swimming pool at the stern. The sun-deck is partially covered by a heated awning. The public areas are on the upper lounge deck and offer beautiful panoramic views. There is a large pleasant lounge and a big dance floor. The bar is separate from the lounge. All public areas such as the lounge, the bar and the restaurant are air conditioned and tastefully decorated. In the central hall on the promenade deck are the reception and the souvenir shop. The cabins are on the promenade deck and the main deck. The cabins are comfortable and decorated with cherry wood and fine fabrics. All cabins are fitted with a shower, toilet, hair dryer, digital mini safe, multi-channel flat screen TV, on board telephone and centrally regulated air conditioning. The beds in the twin cabins are placed next to one another and stow away during the day to make room for two comfortable sofas. All cabins on both cabin decks are of the same size, except for the B cabins, which are slightly smaller.
